Well the big three secrets the British would hate to share are all to do with sex! A whopping 66% say they'd be mortified if they had to admit they'd had an affair, followed by 47% who say they'd hate to share the fact they'd had a sexually transmitted disease.

But perhaps most shocking is that we found 41% of Britons would not be willing to share with their partner the fact that they'd had a sex change in the past - surely they'd guess?!

What other dark secrets do the Brits hate to share? Well 35% said they wouldn't like to share the fact that their friends and family don't like their partners and 31% said sharing the fact they'd run up a huge credit card debt would be awful.

And we found men would be more reluctant to share the secret that they'd had a fling with a member of the same sex. 38% of men would be embarrassed about it compared to 21% of women.

What do we think? Well Britain isn't a nation up for sharing embarrassing secrets - but then we don't blame you!!
